Mac Os Catalina
Hello, I'm new to this, so bear with me... Recently none of my applications barring safari have been able to open. They just bounce in the dock and then nothing happens... I have microsoft office '04 and every time I attempt to open a word document the Word icon just bounces and then quits without ever launching. I tried uninstalling but I can't uninstall Microsoft Office '04 b/c the uninstall application quits before it launches. Not sure what the problem is but it's finals week and I need to be able to access my files, so I went down to my brothers place to grab his MacBook Mac OS X Install DVD. However, when I run it, I get a message that says 'mac os x cannot be installed'. I was thinking of erasing my HD completely (I've backed up all the files), but I want to know if I were to do this....would the OS X then be able to install? Can you erase your HD and get from 10.4.11 to 10.5.5?
